57th Street Art Fair – 76th Year
The 57th Street Art Fair, begun in 1948, is the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest. Part of the ongoing success of the show has been attributed to the Hyde Park neighborhood itself which houses the University of Chicago. Although the fair is still very much a neighborhood event it attracts people from around the metropolitan area, as well as University of Chicago alumni from all over the country who come for their reunions that weekend.
