Fermilab’s Artist-in-Residence Program for June 2021 – June 2022 : Applications Open

Fermilab’s virtual Artist-in-Residence Program for June 2021 – June 2022 : Applications Open

Deadline: March 1

Fermilab is America’s national laboratory dedicated to particle physics research. To initiate and stimulate communication and interactions among scientists, artists and the public, the laboratory has created an artist-in-residence program and seeks applications for the 2021-22 cycle. This call is open to visual artists, composers, choreographers, and writers.

The Fermilab artist-in-residence will interact with scientists at the laboratory, learn about their research, and see how it connects to society. This information will then be used to create a body of work, leading to presentations in the community and possibly an exhibition of the artwork at Fermilab. A small stipend will be provided by the Fermi Research Alliance.

The present circumstances of the COVID-19 crisis has impacted the structuring of this residency. Currently we are planning for virtual introductions and inspiration.

Applications and questions for the 2021-22 Artist-in-Residence program should be submitted to art@fnal.gov

The application period opens January 1 and closes March 1. Artists might be contacted for an interview and a presentation of examples of their portfolio. The artist must be self-motivating and sufficient.

Artists will be notified by April 15, 2021.
