As I lean into my years, I find myself drawn towards gratitude and the spiritual. I try to bring this attitude into my studio and on to the canvas.
My work is about connections; connection with the land, connection with the spirit, connection with each other; my reverence for the earth and all the creatures who inhabit her, deepens.
I express this reverence through the beauty of color, the energy of gestural lines and universal shapes.
Not knowing why you like something occupies that magical space where the unknown becomes known in a language spoken from the heart, instead of the mind. My hope is when people look at my paintings, they feel this connection and sense this reverence.
