My newest series of paintings connects Old Testament narratives with New Testament fulfillment in the life of Christ. Imagery from one painting weaves into imagery in another. The entire series works together to display stories beginning in Genesis, moving through the Psalms and the Prophets; through the life of Jesus and His first disciples; and into the Book of the Revelation. Thus, paintings are filled with reimagined imagery of familiar stories. My paintings are informed by classical tradition, but my years of work have developed into a distinctive style. Many of the paintings are monumental in format, intended for the needs large spaces. Monumental painting is a specialty I developed after studying at the State Akademie of Fine Art, Karlsruhe, Germany, on a stipend after finishing my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
