I have always been fascinated been the human face. Finding most of my subjects in the Life Drawing group I have run for 20+ years. I have continued to observe that human feelings, (joy, sorrow, pain, happiness, anger, compassion etc.) share an integrative existence in a human being in an infinite variety of combinations. Each individual’s combination is extremely complex, and as unique as their thumb print. By intimately observing someone I have witnessed the simultaneous existence of emotions as they are revealed through an individual’s face. I approach each of my mosaics, drawings and paintings with an aim to capture as many emotions as exist within an individual at any given moment of time.
