Request for Qualifications: Chicago Veterans’ Home, Phase 2

The Art-in-Architecture Program of the Capital Development Board announces a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to Illinois artists for the purchase of permanent original art for the Chicago Veterans Home in Chicago, Illinois.

The submission instructions for this RFQ are for purchase and not commission.

PROJECT SITE/ARTISTIC OBJECTIVES

The Committee is seeking to purchase interior artwork to be placed in focal areas in the public places throughout the facility. Final location of the artwork will be decided by Veterans Home staff. Veterans Home staff will also hang the pieces.

Type of media for this project is open and includes two-dimensional media such as painting, drawing, photography, textiles, and small-scale three-dimensional pieces suitable for hanging.

The artwork must speak to the Veterans Home residents, their families, and visitors and all types of two-dimensional artwork is welcome. Themes of special interest are

• nature
• Chicago and Chicagoland
• military service
• home.

The work must be framed and ready to hang on a wall.
