The St. Charles Public Library Foundation is seeking a visual art piece for the St. Charles Public Library. The signature art piece will be permanently displayed above the library’s fireplace in the newly renovated space.
Deadline: July 13
Professional artists are being solicited to submit resumes, references and ideas which are to meet the following criteria:
All professional artists are welcomed to submit their original art. Preference will be given to local artists who reside in the Fox Valley area.

The piece must be original art. It should be a thoughtful work, considerate of its central location in a public library.
Budget up to $10,000, which should include delivery and installation.
Digital submissions should be sent to FoundationArt@scpld.org for consideration by July 13. Artists may send up to 5 images and should include details of the submission. Ninth Street, St. Charles, IL 60174).
Because of the constraints of the space, submissions must meet the following restrictions:
The original work, whatever its dimensionality, should not project more than 4 – 5 inches from the wall, and should consider the load-bearing capacity of a standard stud and wallboard wall.
Selection Process & Notification:
All submitted works will be considered by a jury made up of committee members. All artists who submit work for consideration will be notified of the jury decision by July 24, 2020.
