Chicago Sculpture International (CSI), in collaboration with the Chicago Park District, is seeking experienced artists and artist teams to work with the community surrounding Tuley Park to create an original, site-specific, public sculpture for the park fieldhouse or grounds. CPD is requesting artist proposals that would involve hands-on collaboration with the Tuley Park community to create the artwork and programs (workshops, presentations, etc.) to accompany the project, and/or work and align with existing park programs.
Deadline: April 20
The work resulting from this community project must be safe for the public and be able to last for up to five years. If it is an outdoor sculpture, it must be freestanding and resilient to varying temperatures and other outdoor elements. Structural integrity and safety are primary considerations even though the work will be for viewing only and not for climbing.
Artwork Location Description
Indoor Tuley Park’s fieldhouse or outside, on the grounds. Artists are encouraged to visit Tuley Park’s fieldhouse and environs during public hours to determine possible sites for proposed projects. Also, there are park photos on CSI’s web site (https://www.chicagosculpture.org/).
This project is open to professional artists or artist teams that are Chicago residents and at least 18 years of age. Artists whose proposals are accepted, if they are not already CSI members, will be asked to join. There are many membership benefits, including exhibition and networking opportunities, a presence on our website and access to valuable professional information.
