Jackson Junge Gallery | 1389 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622
Chicago-area encaustic artist Cindy Lesperance will exhibit 2 works in TEN by TEN, a group exhibition at Jackson Junge Gallery bringing together emerging and established artists from Chicago and the surrounding area. The exhibition will be on view November 7, 2026 through January 11, 2027.
TEN by TEN was created with the goal of inspiring new work while offering collectors a glimpse into the wide range of artistic voices and practices found throughout Chicago’s vibrant art community. Artists are given complete freedom in their subject matter and approach, with the only requirements being the work’s size and its ability to hang from the wal
l on a wire.
Lesperance is known for her distinctive encaustic paintings, which explore color, pattern, texture, and layers through the ancient medium of beeswax, Damar resin, and pigment. For over 15 years, she has employed a highly tactile process which she developed in which minute droplets of encaustic medium are individually applied to the surface of her paintings, creating dimensional surfaces that invite close observation.

Cindy Lesperance Selected for 2026 Recent Work Art Competition
Grayslake, Illinois — Chicago-area abstract encaustic artist Cindy Lesperance has been selected to participate in the 2026 Recent Work Art Competition, the 46th annual juried exhibition at the Robert T. Wright Gallery in Grayslake, Illinois.
Two of Lesperance’s encaustic paintings were selected for the exhibition from more than 500 entries submitted by artists living or working in Lake, McHenry, and Cook Counties. A total of 108 works were chosen for the exhibition by juror Matt Irie.
Lesperance is a Chicago-area abstract artist whose work focuses primarily on encaustic—a medium made from beeswax, damar resin, and pigment.
