This juried exhibit invited artists of all ages and levels of experience to submit works that reflected what freedom means to them. This print is part of the “The Absence of God is a Presence” series which was inspired by the shock and subsequent horro of the October 7 tragedy in Israel. I found Judaic text which would inspire me to believe in the positive power of God. Banishing God’s Exile is a print which is inspired by Abraham Heschel’s words that ” We need to worship to expand the presence of god in the world, and thus banish God’s exile.”

Ballistic Seed Dispersal is one print from a six print series that I completed at my Soaring Gardens Artist Residency near Scranton PA in 2024. The series contrasts the ease of botanic dispersal to the physical danger and hardship of human gestation and birth.
This print along with forty other works was chosen by jurors Monica Brown and Nora Moore Lloyd from 300 submissions.
I have been selected for the David Barr Legacy Artist Residency in
Novi, Michigan for July of 2026. I will be creating eight prints of healing plants native to Michigan. I hope all the Michigan folks will stop in next year! A broad selection of my prints will be hanging at the Novi Civic Center for the entire month.
