Encaustic Paintings

I love spending time in nature, traveling, and learning about other cultures:  their art, traditions, and architecture.  I’m always aware of color, pattern, and texture, these experiences are inspiration for my work.

I work in encaustic (a paint made of beeswax, resin and pigment) and incorporate a process I developed, of meticulously applying small droplets of paint one-by-one to the surface of the painting. The overall effect produces a tactile pattern that entices the viewer to touch.

Cindy Lesperance is President of FUSEDChicago – a Chicago based organization of Midwest artists who work in encaustic.  Her art has been exhibited and has earned awards in many juried shows, galleries and museums throughout the Chicagoland area and across the country.  She has been the featured artist in Encaustic Arts Magazine, Winter Edition 2017 and ACS Magazine and on the cover of the January 2019 edition of the Journal of Financial Service Professionals.  Her work is displayed in private and public collections throughout the nation and is on view as part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Encaustic Art.
