Perspective Gallery is proud to announce the call for entry for our 7th Annual Vicinity Exhibition of Chicago area photography. If you can personally deliver your framed work, you live within the “vicinity” of the exhibit. Perspective Gallery is a community cooperative whose mission is to promote the art of photography through exhibitions, lectures, and outreach.
THEME:
This year’s Vicinity Exhibition is about “What Matters to You.” Submit images that represent what you care about. They can be related to your feelings about our society, culture, the environment or important relationships
JUROR:
We are excited to announce that Nick Sinnott, the owner and director of Chicago Photography Classes and respected teacher, will be the Juror for Vicinity 2024. Sinnott has dedicated his career to empowering over 1,500 aspiring photographers every year, at every level, to discover and develop their passion for photography, and to unleash their creative brilliance. https://www.nicksinnottphotography.com
SUBMISSIONS:
If you live in the general Chicago area and can bring your work to the gallery, you are invited to submit up to five (5) images in JPEG format. Work must not have been previously shown at Perspective Gallery. All types of non-AI generated photographic work are welcome. By submitting work, applicants agree to permit Perspective Gallery to use their images in publicity with attribution. Photographers will retain copyright to their work.

Juror’s Award: $150
1st Runner Up: $100
2nd Runner Up: $50
ENTRY FEE
$35 for up to five (5) images.
Important dates:
- The call for submission opens March 15th
- Submissions are due Wednesday, May 15th
- Notification of acceptance by June 1st
- Delivery of the work between June 27th and June 30th during gallery hours
- Show opens noon on Friday July 5th
- Opening reception is on July 13th, 5-7 p.m.
- Artist talk via Zoom is on Thursday July 18th, 7 p.m.
- Show closes July 28th
- Work must be picked up on Sunday, July 28th or Monday, July 29th (hours TBD)
ACCEPTED ARTWORK:
All accepted work must be framed in a professional manner with hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers).
Sales:
Artists will receive 60% of the sale price of any work sold. Perspective Gallery will receive a 40% commission on any artwork sold during the exhibition.
