May 10 – June 29
Opening May 10, 5:30 – 7:30

Illinois Central #2, Oil and Silver Leaf on Birch Panel

Renee McGinnis paints luscious bio systems, juxtaposed in frozen landscapes with ghostly remains of various man-made modes of transportation.

Flowers, jewels and delicate butterflies represent our desire of aesthetic beauty, a distraction of the fragility of nature, and our shortsightedness. Trains, planes and ships, fueled by the ancient compression of flora (fossil fuels) and emblems of Western progress, lie frozen in the barren, inhospitable future they brought to pass.
