Artist Cindy Lesperance has been selected to exhibit a work from her Strata series in Pro/Fuse, a juried exhibition at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago. Juried by encaustic artist Kathleen Waterloo, the exhibition features 48 works selected from 145 submissions that incorporate encaustic materials or techniques.

Inspired by the layered formations of mountainsides and valleys, the Strata series explores themes of time, disruption, renewal, and the traces left by experience. Working in the ancient medium of encaustic—a blend of beeswax, damar resin, and pigment—Cindy Lesperance builds each painting through thousands of individual wax droplets, creating richly layered surfaces that invite close observation.

Pro/Fuse will be on view July 11–August 16, 2026, at Woman Made Gallery, 1332 S Halstead St, Chicago, IL.  An opening reception will be held Saturday, July 11, from 4–7 p.m., and a Closing Artist Walkthrough will take place Saturday, August 15, from 2–4 p.m.

Cindy Lesperance is an Illinois-based encaustic artist whose work explores themes of time, memory, disruption, and renewal through layered wax surfaces inspired by natural formations and landscapes.
