The Shape of Color: Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College

The exhibiting artists employ a wide variety of artistic strategies and materials. Some utilize unconventional materials such as spray paint and PVC surfaces as canvases, while others incorporate traditional media in innovative and exciting ways, including encaustic and oil painting techniques. What unifies their work is a bold and dynamic use of color. True to modern sensibilities, color itself becomes the primary subject expressed through striking forms, expressive brushwork, and energetic processes.

A public reception is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.

The exhibition continues through July 2, 2026.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
